This vinyl is really one that can only be appreciated by die hard trip-hoppers. That said, those unfamiliar with the genre will surely enjoy it just as well. The album follows the chronology of the film, beginning with Galliano's excellent "Slack Hands". The gospel-style chorus, acoustic guitar, and hip-hop drums open the vinyl nicely. The vinyl also features Massive Attack's "Spying Glass" and "Karmacoma", from their "Protection" album; Prodigy's frenetic remix of Method Man's "Release Yo' Delf"; DJ Shadow's tragic suite "Stem"; classical composer David Darling's "In November", a tension-filled symphony that was also used to similar effect in the movie "Heat"; and, my favorite track, "The Wilderness" by V-Love. It appeared in the movie at the commencement ceremony at film's end, and it fit that scene perfectly. All in all, a very good compilation, definitely not like typical soundtracks for this type of movie. Highly recommended.
