SAIYUKI: REQUIEM: REQUIEM is the second feature-length film sequel to the popular anime series SAIYUKI. A blend of action, fantasy, and comedy that is based partly on a 16th-century Chinese folktale and partly on a modern-day Japanese manga, the SAIYUKI franchise follows Buddhist monk Sanzo on his sacred mission to destroy demons across the land of Shangri-la. Sanzo is joined in his quest by three misfits, each with his own particular skills: the half-demon Goku, the magic-wielding Hakkai, and the lucky gambler Gojyo. In REQUIEM, the quartet is lured by a beautiful siren to a dangerous shrine fraught with an insidiously new form of demonic terror. MARTIAN SUCCESSOR NADESICO: PRINCE OF DARKNESS: In the popular Japanese series MARTIAN SUCCESSOR NADESICO, mechanized Jovian Lizards invaded Earth, and the Nadesico, an incredibly evolved spaceship created by a corporation, was the only hope for survival. MARTIAN SUCCESSOR NADESICO: PRINCE OF DARKNESS, deftly continues the story. In the film, the Jovians have joined with the people of Earth, and the Nadesico B is commanded by Ruri. Trouble arises when a Martian splinter group forms to steal the secrets behind Bose particles. The original Nadesico crew is called to action to stop the group and again save Earth.
