Scala & Kolacny Brothers Premiere 'Live From Bruges' Pledge Drive Special This Month Scala & Kolacny Brothers, the all-female Belgian rock choir led by brothers Steven and Stijn, have premiered a public television pledge drive special to begin airing nationwide in December (check local listings). 'Scala & Kolacny Brothers - Live From Bruges' features "rock's heavenly choir" (NPR Morning Edition) performing a diverse set of "ethereal spine-chillers" (Elle) at Concertgebouw Bruges Theater in the historic city of Bruges, Belgium. 'Live From Bruges' finds Scala weaving their own compositions through imaginative reworkings of classics from artists including The Police, Roberta Flack, and U2. Taking the term "international phenomenon" to a new level, Scala was included in the second season trailer for the PBS hit drama series 'Downton Abbey' and the group is set to join 'Britain's Got Talent' winner Jai McDowell on the upcoming 'Royal Variety Show,' to be broadcast in the UK on December 15. The dark choir's European domination comes on the heels of a wildly successful year in the US, which included performances at SXSW and Coachella, where they transformed the Gobi Stage into an "altar devoted to sweet rock and roll" (LA Times) during their midnight set.
