Another Record Store Day compilation LP. Universal knows what kind of music nerds participate in RSD and this comp caters accordingly. The A-side features good old fashioned "alternative" rock from Be Your Own Pet and Switches, some crappy modern sugar metal from Black Tide, and some new school arena rock from Ludo. The song is tolerable, but I was hoping for more from a band named after a character in Labyrinth. There's also a group called Yaov. If you think that's a very nondescript kind of name, then you have a good idea of how they sound.

The flip just adds to the eclecticism, this time with a dose of Americana. Singer-songwriter Ryan Bingham leads off, followed by country pop from One Flew South and some honky tonk from Hayes Carll. Then we get the female singer-songwriter treatment from Tift Merritt and Kathleen Edwards, another country vehicle from Shelby Lynne, bluegrass from the SteelDrivers and country rock from Whiskeytown.
