This 17-year scene vet has learned a lot in her eternal tenure in the underground. Now she's the best-selling female DJ in the country, has legions of followers (many of whom represent the massive gay circuit she's always championed) and topped the Billboard Dance Charts with the single "You're the Worst Thing for Me" (as Pusaka with Thunderpuss' Chris Cox and Thea Austin).

On Phonosynthesis, Irene comes out swinging, dropping larger-than-life beats, pulse-quickening crescendos and freaky vocal samples to create her sexually charged club utopia soundtrack. Opening with a classic Karen Findley sample, she (wo)manhandles bombastic breakbeats (Terminalhead), straight hardcore (Omar Santana) and even drum & bass (Aphrodite). This is more an experience than a mix, the sound of someone out to rip you a new one (while seducing your girlfriend back to her hotel room for some real fun).
