Chances are, every time you see this name in print it will be prefaced by the phrase "composer of HAIR." Yes, it's true that MacDermot composed & orchestrated the music to the wildly successful show that revolutionized Broadway in the late 60s. & no, it's not an insult to be known to many as the man who wrote "Aquarius" & "Let the Sunshine In." But MacDermot is a prolific composer whose work spans the gamut of the performing arts, & he has recorded music for over 40 years. HAIR is an artistic high point in MacDermot's life, but is by no means the only representation of his talents.
