This is the first of two promo-only CDs distributed by Harry's music publishers, Warner/Chappell Publishing. Like Perfect Day (the even better 2006 companion CD), Life Line: The Songs of Nilsson 1967-1971 is half of an nearly great greatest hits collection. But, because it's designed to promote only Harry's compositions, it's missing Harry's biggest hits... his covers (not to mention anything from Nilsson Sings Newman). The collection is mighty and substantial though, including Harry's almost autobiographical "1941," highlights from The Point! and a few non-LP singles (that have since been released as reissue bonus tracks). It's Harry's first CD to include "Best Friend," the minute long theme song from The Courtship of Eddie's Father, which, by itself, makes it worth having. Both combined, Perfect Day & Life Line are excellent, rarity-filled, career-spanning
