| With his booming production commanding the airwaves and his catchphrases now ubiquitous -- thanks to a hearing-impaired skit on Comedy Central's Chappelle's Show -- Lil Jon has successfully made his crunk brand of hip-hop a hot commodity. Showing no signs of cooling off, Lil Jon and the East Side Boyz return with their fourth proper album, Crunk Juice. Since Jon and company have always preferred hollering and chanting to a more traditional rhyming technique, the album's guest list is crammed with an impressive cast of mike men, including R. Kelly ("In Da Club") and Nas ("Grand Finale"). As expected, 808 drum-and-synth concoctions remain Jon's musical foundation, though he successfully ventures into other genres. The mosh pit–worthy "Get Crunk," with its crushing bass beat and aggressive chants, takes on an almost punk rock swagger, while the slow jam "Lovers and Friends" reunites Lil Jon with Usher and Ludacris for the first time since Usher's megahit "Yeah!" "Aww Skeet Skeet," featuring DJ Flexx, marries an LJ catchphrase to an addictive go-go groove. Playing like one big party in CD format, Crunk Juice offers plenty of musical libations for everyone.
