Sharon Corr - The Same Sun (Audio CD - May 27, 2014)

Sharon Corr's collection of songs on her sophomore solo effort is an elegant and superbly sung delight. Mitchell Froom's production sets a wonderful, retro tone that still sounds relevant and modern. Corr shows SIGNIFICANT growth on this album both lyrically, musically and, most importantly, vocally. This album has a point of view and the songs truly fit her voice, items her first solo album lacked. It seems Sharon has figured out what she does best as a solo artist and has some great songs to show for it. Highlights are the jazzy "The Runaround," the beautifully sophisticated "The Same Sun," the soulful "We Could be Lovers" and the sultry "Upon an Ocean."
