Nathalie Archangel has made three albums since her self-titled debut long ago. Her voice is unique, warm yet with an edge, and her songs go places nobody else was going at the time. Some of my Favorites from Owl are It Don't Heal Clean, and A Very Thin Line will break your heart if you've any heart at all. Best of all, in a business where so many sound like so many others and then if a new, slightly different something pops up there's a rush to that and it's sunsequent sound-alike mutations; Nathalie Archangel has remained impossible to imitate nor 'follow up' with those sould-alike mutations. Her music is outstanding in the sense that it truly stands alone and terrifically so. In the greedy part of my being, I long for a Nathalie Archangel release once a year or so - her stuff is just that good, great, and grand. And yet I'd not want to tie anyone down to all that studio recording work (for I've seen it in person) and it IS work, and not always so fun when you're on the tenth take of the same song you've just done nine times before.
